Unstable Potion + any weak monster (bat is the best option because of its vampirism) [6-7 mana(5 for the unstable potion and 1-2 for the monster)]
Fairy next to you for +1 hp per turn which is useful for spark mage and not drawing any cards damage (1 mana)
Summon Totem (3 mana) (will summon one of these 3 totems only)
-Fire Totem: snipe enemies that may cause problems (for example all the ratfolks that build things)
-Heal Totem: healing random allies
-Buff Totem: adding damage to random allies (well paired with fire totem)
Smite for sniping any enemies that may cause problems
Blacksmith and Innkeeper for adding cards that are pretty useful and prevent you from getting card damage for longer (3 mana for either one)
Snake is good for its deathtouch although you will need to keep it out of enemy monsters range and protect it. (1 mana)
Cards to NOT get:
Spider because too slow and other weak monsters cost less mana (2 mana)
Hell Critter because even though it costs 0 mana it does no damage so it's only useful as a decoy and there are always better weak monsters for decoys (0 mana)
Beast simply because Minotaur is better (8 mana)
Goblin because the other weak monsters have effects like vampirism and swarm while it has nothing but base stats (but at least has 2 hp so it's somewhat useful for spark mage) like Hell Critter which is another reason not to get Hell Critter (1 mana)
Bonus Fact: if the death touch snake gets to the other mage and attacks, the death touch doesn't work.
Honestly amazing game but please make the demo bigger because I can only play in browser😭

The summoning portal is one of my favorites and I would really like it if you added some more summoning cards like it. I want it like that because I'm jealous of the ratfolk mage that's able to make those summoning things and towers and all that.
such as more demo battles but a bigger area would not be good because you would have to change speed stats to adjust to it so I recommend not to make the area bigger
I tried the new demo update with the dwarf mage and here's the review:
When I first saw the dwarven death machine I was so surprised by the 20 20 stats but then realized I didn't check the speed. So speed is 0 first then can be buffed by guys later and health can be buffed too. Then when I found all that out I devised my strategy: kill all the buffers for the death machine and prioritize the speed buffer. Then get some strong units and kill the mage while mostly avoiding the death machine.
Things I want to change:
The death machine can be killed, and that's fine, but where it respawns is different. When I killed it with taken by the sea I noticed it respawned in the same spot, which I think could be changed so it has 5 positions around the dwarf mage instead of just one spot.
I also think in general the ai could be updated so that if any mage is at critical health it either tries to kill the player fast or kill the attackers first.
Great game, much potential. I had a bug a while back fighting the random mage where after moving a considerable amount of troops from my 4 portals onto his summoning area, he spawned a Minotaur on the spot with a fairy crashing the game and my computer. ( its good to note that there was still a few open spaces left for him .)
I noticed bug with the "taken by the sea" spell, it might happen with other spells too but when I selected the spell but pressed space to end turn before selecting a target it let my use it in the middle of the enemy's turn, it cost no mana, and it wasn't removed from my hand after using it.

im gonna make a video on youtube about this game and then edit this comment and add it
new recommendation: please make the description hitboxes better because it keeps either staying when I don't want it to stay or goes away too fast
second recommendation: make spark mage a bit easier because how it always snipes all your weak units can be really frustrating for new players
also there's a glitch that makes the blue mage neon white but I don't know what causes it sorry
It happens when the mage takes damage more than once in quick succession :D It will be fixed on the next update. Thanks for all the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback! :D If you beat the Ratfolk Mage it unlocks the "Cheese" artifact, which pretty much makes you the new Ratfolk Mage.
By "make the demo bigger" what exactly do you mean? Do you mean a visually bigger area, or more content for the game?

There is some bug that make minion on the field not pickable to move or do anything
I've been investigation that bug for a while now. Has it happened on the 3rd battle (Ratfolks) ?
I don't remeber the stage but i think it happen after they use Teleport on my minion
